Traditional Japanese storytelling takes center stage through the ancient art of rakugo, a solo performance where a single artist brings entire casts of characters to life using only a paper fan and a hand towel. Seventeen-year-old Akane Osaki grew up mesmerized by her father's performances, watching him pour his soul into achieving the prestigious rank of shin'uchi. However, when a legendary master ruthlessly expels her father from his school during his final promotion exam, Akane's childhood admiration transforms into an unshakeable determination to master the craft and prove her father's vision right.

Stepping onto the stage herself, Akane trains under her father's former mentor while concealing her identity from harsh critics and rival performers. She must navigate high-stakes auditions, intense backstage politics, and strict generational traditions in her quest to climb the ranks of classical theater. Her journey is far more than an educational training arc; it is a high-octane battle of stage presence, verbal precision, and absolute commitment to reshaping the traditional art form on her own terms.
